ABOUT US

CIP (Clean in Place) eliminates organic residues like precipitated proteins, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and other contaminants that harbor bacteria and ultimately lead to bio-corrosion. Particularly in industries that require stringent hygiene like the beverage, brewing, dairy and processed foods industries, CIP offers a faster, less labor intensive and more repeatable method to maintain scrupulously clean systems.
MIOX has developed an efficient and cost-effective method for cleaning the interior surfaces of production equipment without disassembly, reducing production downtime and increasing plant efficiency. This new technology has been applied by industry leading companies as the preferred technology going forward. The cleaning solution is an environmentally benign and single component solution that replaces 4- and 5-step CIP processes with a rapid, non-thermal, 3-step process consisting of rinse, treatment, and final rinse. The solution is a 9 pH chlor-oxygen based disinfectant that has excellent sanitizing performance at high pH but also excellent cleaning characteristics due to the hydroxide characteristics of the solution.
Key advantages of this technology are elimination of the energy required for thermal processes, and a rapid cleaning cycle that significantly improves facility production rates due to less down time for cleaning. MIOX mixed oxidants are highly effective at eliminating biofilm, ultimately resulting in less bacterial contamination, reduced disinfectant requirements, and more durable disinfectant residuals to prevent recontamination. With less organics in distribution piping, fewer disinfection by-products are formed and microbiologically-induced corrosion (MIC) is reduced. Compatibility of the solution with existing materials of construction (304 and 316 stainless steel, etc) are excellent and below industry standards for corrosion. Mixed oxidants are a cost-effective option compared to other CIP alternatives. Produced on-site, on demand, mixed oxidant solution is an inherently safer CIP disinfectant, using only salt, water, and power to generate disinfectant. Without hazardous chemicals transported, generated or stored, MIOX offers superior safety for plant personnel and the community.
