KNOLL America Receives 3-A Sanitary Standards Certification For Submerged Sanitary Pump

Madison Heights, MI (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - KNOLL America, the US subsidiary of the German company, KNOLL Maschinenbau GmbH, announces that it has received 3-A certification for its new MX Series of Sanitary Pumps. 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc. (3-A SSI) is an independent, not-for-profit corporation dedicated to advancing hygienic equipment design for the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. 3-A SSI represents the interests of three stakeholder groups with a common commitment to promoting food safety and the public health—regulatory sanitarians, equipment fabricators and processors.

Debuted at the Process EXPO 2009 exhibition in Las Vegas, the MX Series Pumps are a completely new generation of process cavity pumps specially designed for the food and beverage, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, sugar, paint and chemical industries. These submerged sanitary pumps are used for emptying liquid product from bins, mixers, drums, vats and large bags. The pumps are hygienic inside and out for submersing into product-holding containers. KNOLL manufactures five sizes of MX Series Pumps with 18 different performance ranges, offering capacity up to 880 gallons per minute and pressure up to 580 PSI on standard models. The MX Series Pumps are suitable for handling viscous, abrasive and shear-sensitive fluids.

Through innovative detail solutions, the MX Series Pumps leads the industry in service, hygiene and dosing accuracy. KNOLL's MX Series Pumps gently convey low-viscosity, airtight media at a rate of 880 USGPM with a maximum pressure of 145 PSI per pressure stage up to eight stages on certain models. Their smooth delivery and characteristic linear curve allow for precision dosing, even under extreme pressure. The Pumps handle abrasive particles in suspension up to 4" without damaging the pieces. CIP (Cleaning In Place) and rapid disassembly of the unit ensures fast and easy cleaning.

Bill Prudhomme, president of KNOLL America, said, "We are proud to have received this designation from 3-A Sanitary Standards, Inc., because it signals to our customers the commitment we at KNOLL have to safe yet innovative processing and manufacturing."
