7-Eleven Adds to Smoothie Trend
This month 7-Eleven hits the beverage scene with the introduction of 7-Eleven Frut Cooler non-carbonated frozen beverage.
The new frozen beverage comes in two flavorsOrange Creme and Strawberry Creme and in two sizes 12 and 16-oz. The product will be dispensed from the same type of machine as 7-Eleven Café Cooler, the frozen cappuccino beverage introduced last year.
7-Eleven Frut Cooler is available at more than 5,600 store in the U.S. and Canada. Each variety contains real fruit or juice and is lowfat, having less than 1-g of fat per 8-oz serving. A dairy product made with pasteurized egg yolks for added flavor and body makes the beverage sweeter and creamier than the traditional smoothie.
"Frut cooler is a cross between ice cream and a normal fruit beverage," said Alan Beach, 7-Eleven category manager for Frut Cooler, Café Cooler and coffee. "People who have tried our new smoothies say the taste reminds them of a Dreamsicle ice cream bar."
With more than 18,500 convenience stores worldwide, 7-Eleven, Inc.'s operations include 5,600 7-Eleven and other convenience stores in the U.S. and Canada.
