Aloe Beverages Making a Splash

Aloe Splash Inc. (Chandler, AZ) is moving into more markets with its non-carbonated soft drink line. Already distributed and highly popular in Arizona, the drinks will be available in Southern California by May 15 and in Hawaii by the end of May.
The natural fruit-favored, health-oriented beverages are currently available in 20-oz PET bottles with uniquely sized 38-mm pull-push sports caps. They are shelf-stable and have an estimated one-year-plus shelf life. The line includes four flavors—Kiwi Strawberry, Mountain Berry (raspberry and blackberry with a hint of cherry), Kiwi Lime, and Orange Mango. Aloe Splash president Steve Dymand tells us that additional flavors already are on the drawing boards.
The drinks contain 10% aloe vera juice, added vitamin C, and are sweetened with a blend of fructose and SPLENDA sucralose. The calorie count is 20 calories per 8-oz serving.
Notes Dymand, "The new-age beverage segment is highly competitive, but Aloe Splash contains juice from the incredible aloe vera plant, plus added vitamin C. Furthermore, most new age beverages either don't taste very good or are high in calories, carbohydrates, caffeine and sodium. An 8-oz serving of our product has 20 calories, 5 grams of carbohydrates, no caffeine, and no sodium."
