AppliedSensor opens U.S. testing laboratory

AppliedSensor has opened a U.S. laboratory to service customer needs and to solidify AppliedSensor's role as an emerging world leader in the field of sensor systems. The lab will perform volatile compound analysis on samples supplied by U.S. customers. This valuable information will help customers ensure quality assurance and control.

Customers currently using AppliedSensor's chemical sensor products to enhance quality control in the food quality, packaging, environmental and waste management industries, can now ship samples directly to AppliedSensor's Parsippany, N.J. campus for feasibility testing and application development.

"Opening a lab closer to the customer will enable quicker and easier handling of samples and prompt feedback on testing cycles," said Xavier C. Villarreal, Ph.D., application specialist of AppliedSensor. "The new lab can provide customers with qualified capability tests and applications from AppliedSensor in a more cost efficient and timely manner."

Dr. Villarreal, who has spearheaded the ongoing strategic development and growth of the technical base, is also responsible for managing feasibility tests, developing applications, writing application notes, training customers, and installing and repairing equipment. These extra services will add value to existing and potential customer relationships.

"By providing customers with more economical, time-managed, and strategic methods, we're confident existing and prospective customers will be more inclined to utilize our chemical sensor systems," said Tom Aiken, COO of AppliedSensor. " Our investment in the laboratory further demonstrates AppliedSensor's dedication to establishing and sustaining a loyal U.S. customer base."

AppliedSensor Laboratory Support
The AppliedSensor laboratory is equipped with its complete line of chemical sensor systems including the 3320 at-line unit, the on-line VOCmeter series, and the VOCcheck handheld chemical sensor system. Collected data from samples are processed by the 3320 and VOCmeter instruments and analyzed by AppliedSensor's proprietary software programs Argus and SenseTool. The laboratory will help ensure quality control and assist with advanced testing capabilities per customer requests.
