Budweiser Toasts Millenium with Special Package Graphics, Magnum Bottle

Brewed by Anheuser-Busch Inc. (St. Louis, MO), Budweiser, which boasts that it's "an American classic since 1876," will be available in packaging featuring distinctive, commemorative labels from September 1999 through January 2000. New millennium graphics will appear on all 12-oz longneck bottles and 12-oz cans of genuine Budweiser beer, the world's top-selling beer. The special graphics will also adorn the six-pack, 12-pack and case cartons in which these bottles are contained. The limited-edition graphics will not appear on Budweiser's 12-oz standard flagship bottles nor on any other size containers or other brands.
The commemorative millennium packaging will feature a turn-of-the-century look with script type and gold highlights. The phrases "Budweiser Millennium" and "since 1876" will appear as well.

Nostalgic packaging graphics and a magnum bottle are part of Budweiser's millenium commemoration.
In addition to millennium packaging graphics, the brand is producing a limited-edition Budweiser magnum bottle. Available from mid-October through the holiday season, the Budweiser magnum bottle is a black glass container that resembles a traditional champagne bottle and contains 46 ounces of original Budweiser. Components of the bottle include a red foil wrap around the bottleneck, a cork and a wire closure.
The Budweiser magnum bottle will be sold as part of a special gift-box set that includes four, 12-oz pilsner glasses. Each glass features a gold Budweiser millennium logo, 14-carat gold rim and stem featuring a globe with an embossed Budweiser logo.
The Budweiser millennium magnum bottle gift set will serve as the centerpiece of Bud Family displays and as decoration in bars and restaurants during the upcoming holiday season. Marketing support for Budweiser's millennium program includes new television, radio and outdoor advertising, along with a variety of on-premise promotions.
