Coca-Cola Acquires Carolina Coca-Cola Bottling

Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Consolidated has acquired Carolina Coca-Cola Bottling Co. (Charlotte, NC). The transaction was structured as a merger, with consideration consisting of a combination of Coca-Cola Consolidated common stock, installment notes and cash.

"This merger represents a continuation of Coca-Cola Consolidated's long-range plan to expand through strategic acquisitions and strong internally generated growth," said Frank Harrison, III, Coca-Cola Consolidated's chairman and CEO.

Carolina Coca-Cola's sales territory includes all or parts of the following South Carolina counties—Chester, Chesterfield, Claredon, Fairfield, Florence, Georgetown, Kershaw, Lancaster, Lee, Newberry, Sumter and Williamsburg.
