Swagelok T2C1 valves by Whitey Co. offer users a choice of sample stream flow options in a compact enclosure. The design consists of two pneumatically actuated shut off valves joined to a common outlet. All components are contained in a single valve body that is only 1.75 in. (45 mm) wide, 3.73 in. (95 mm) high, and 0.98 in. (25 mm) deep. Independent operation of the actuators is the key to the valve's flexibility.
Actuators can be cycled to allow the valve to function as
- A 3-way switching valve, allowing flow from one inlet to proceed to the common outlet while the other inlet is closed, useful for introducing zero and span gases to an analyzer , or permitting flow of two different sample fluids to one analyzer
- An isolation valve, closing flow to all ports
- A mixing valve with both inlets open to a common outlet.
Bidirectional capability allows the valve to split flow from a common inlet into two separate streams. Valve actuation can be ordered in any combination of normally closed, high pressure normally closed, double acting, or normally open models.
Swagelok T2C1 valves are constructed from 316 stainless steel for corrosion resistance. O-ring seals provide positive shutoff and leak-tight integrity. O-ring material choices are fluorocarbon, Kalrez, or ethylene propylene. Leak detection ports can be used to eliminate fugitive emissions and prevent intermixing of actuation air and system fluids. Pressure ratings are to 300 psig (21 bar) for double acting and normally open models, 200psig (14 bar) for high pressure normally closed models, and 100 psig (7 bar) for normally closed models.
Minimum actuation pressures are 50 psig (3.5 bar) for normally closed models, and 80 psig (5.5 bar) for all others. Temperature ratings are 0°F to 300°F (-15°C to 150°C ). End connections are 1/16 in., 1/8 in., or 3 mm gageable female Swagelok tube fitting, or 1/8 in. female NPT.
