DSD software helps Pepsi bottler manage sales/deliveries

Endgame Systems (Waterloo, Ontario, Canada), a provider of Direct Store Delivery solutions, has announced that Birmingham, AL-based Buffalo Rock, the largest privately owned Pepsi distributor in the U.S., is now running its business on Endgame's next-generation SDMS Version 5.4 solution. After a well-executed software implementation, Buffalo Rock is using the system to manage and optimize its sales, order fulfillment and delivery processes.

Endgame's SDMS Solution is a suite of software components that plan, execute, control and monitor every step of the order-to-delivery cycle for a direct store delivery (DSD) business. This application is also intended for other businesses that need, route settlement and financials, vehicle loading, and routing.

Buffalo Rock had previously deployed Endgame's Sales & Territory Planning/Route Optimization and Load Optimizer components. It has now implemented Endgame's next-generation Sales & Delivery Management Solutions (SDMS V5.4). Version 5.4 provides Buffalo Rock with an expanded functional footprint which allows the company to extend its internal processes to support the new business practices and changing requirements of its trading partners.

Today, Buffalo Rock is running all operations on SDMS 5.4. This project spanned 13 divisions that went live from June to December. SDMS 5.4 includes:


  • customer and demand management
  • order processing and fulfillment
  • customer service management
  • pricing and promotions management
  • distributed inventory management
  • shipment optimization and load balancing
  • delivery reconciliation
  • and electronic commerce

Buffalo Rock serves 80,000 customers and will process more than 1.5 million order lines per week on SDMS 5.4.
