Burgos, Spain (PRWEB) - Ateliers Hermes Boissons (AHB), a French co-manufacturer, has become the first company investing in Hiperbaric’s latest development, the in-bulk machine which is intended for large quantities of juice processing, company officials announced.
With Hiperbaric’s bulk machine, AHB will be able to offer the advantages of high pressure processing (HPP), also known as cold pressure technology, as well as flash pasteurized juice production, bottling and other co-packing services.
“Premiumization is the most significant trend influencing the European fruit juice market. Our goal is to provide the highest quality juices, and Hiperbaric 525 Bulk will allow us to do that,” said Cyril Ledran, president of Ateliers Hermes Boissons. “The in-bulk machine will enable us to provide the many benefits of HPP to our customers, including expanded shelf life, food safety, and cold pressed, fresh-like juices with no added chemicals or preservatives, while leveraging our packaging capabilities (e.g., carton, bag-in-box and PET).”
Andres Hernando, president and CEO, Hiperbaric, said the Hiperbaric 525 Bulk is a global innovation for large production of HPP beverages. The equipment is based on a revolutionary concept (patent pending) in which beverages are processed in bulk before bottling. The machine delivers up to 4,000 l/h, the world’s largest production capacity, with the lowest processing cost and minimum energy consumption.
Ateliers Hermes Boissons uses thermal processing, so they already have ESL (Extended Shelf Life) and filling equipment in place, making it an easy transition. With the in-bulk technology, the company aims at expanding its range of juices and offers alternatives to thermal processing.
Juice production using the bulk technology will begin in the first quarter of 2020, with Hiperbaric 525 Bulk delivery expected at the end of 2019.
High Pressure Processing is a cold pasteurization technique in which food undergoes a high level of hydrostatic pressure (6,000 bar or 87,000 psi). Since 2000, HPP has successfully been implemented in all types of food industries worldwide.
HPP is a natural, environmentally friendly process that helps maintain fresh food characteristics such as flavor and nutrients, while providing food safety and extended shelf life.
