Gencor Wins Contract to Expand Citrosuco Citrus Plant

Gencor Industries, Inc. (Orlando, FL) has secured a contract with Citrosuco North America for the turnkey expansion of a citrus plant in Lake Wales, Florida, that will increase the plant's capacity to process oranges from 11 million boxes to 30 million boxes per year.

GUMACO Ltda. of Brazil, a business unit of Gencor with main offices and factories in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is the world's largest producer of plants for the extraction, concentration and freezing of fruit juices. Its subsidiary GUMACO USA participated in the transaction and will handle all the installation and start-up phases of the contract. The plant expansion should be complete in October 1999.

Citrosuco North America is a division of Citrosuco Paulista S.A., one of the largest citrus processors headquartered in Brazil.

"This is a significant contract and will require substantial engineering and manufacturing coordination, as well as production at both of our operations in Brazil, as well as in Orlando," stated E.J. Elliott, chairman of Gencor.

Mr. Luiz Bagnariol, on assignment from Brazil to manage the expansion of Citrosuco North America at Lake Wales stated, "Upon completion of this project in 1999, this plant will be one of the three largest citrus processing plants in the United States, and GUMACO will play an important role with a high level of responsibility in the accomplishment."
