Lasertechnics Marking Corp. Bought by Amphion Capital
Lasertechnics Marking Corp. (LMC) (Albuquerque, NM) a leading manufacturer of laser coding systems, has been acquired by Amphion Capital Management, a New York City investment capital firm. LMC was a wholly owned subsidiary of AXCESS Inc. (Dallas); Amphion Capital Management is a major shareholder of AXCESS Inc.
"The sale strategically makes LMC a private company, which puts it in a stronger position to more quickly help consumer products companies meet growing demands for 'best if purchased by' date codes," commented Gene Borque, president and CEO of LMC. Borque added that LMC's new corporate positioning will enable the company to advance its relationship with Rofin-Sinar UK Ltd., a majority owned subsidiary of Rofin-Sinar Technologies Inc., to bring new laser marking technologies to the marketplace.
LMC and Rofin-Sinar UK Ltd. recently introduced the Blazer FlexScan dot matrix laser coder. The powerful coding system possesses a peak power of over 300 watts, allowing it to reach speeds of 500 ft/min of single line scanning, which the company says is the highest in the industry.
LMC, founded in 1982 as Lasertechnics Inc., manufactures, sells and distributes carbon dioxide laser marking systems to the worldwide pharmaceutical, beverage, food, personal care products and electronics markets.
