Official Salitos Launch Hailed as a Great Success in UK

Paderborn / Windsor - Launching any new product into the alcoholic drinks sector is an arduous task but Navson, UK and MBG International Premium Brands, Germany are successfully striding ahead with its exciting and unusual product – ‘Salitos Tequila Flavoured Beer'. Following a successful test period the official market launch took place October 1st. Salitos was sold so far in 23 countries. In total MBG portfolio is available in more than 42 countries around the globe.

‘Salitos' is a Classic bottom-fermented Premium Lager that has been elegantly balanced with a shot of the very finest Imported Tequila De Jalisco. An added twist of South American Limes further enhances the Latin attitude of this original Tequila Beer. Drawing on its influences from Latin America, Salitos Tequila Beer has a smooth, mellow and fully aromatic flavour. Made with only 100% Natural Ingredients and with an Alcohol Content of 5.2% ABV its pure pleasure in a bottle. Each bottle of Salitos TB has a unique bottle opener incorporated into its base that opens the twist-off crown cap of the next Salitos bottle.

Salitos has taken the UK bar scene by storm and held an official launch reception on the 1st October 05 at Sir Christopher Wrens House Hotel, Windsor. Attending the reception was numerous guests including bar-owners, retailers and wholesalers et al and the launch was a chance to celebrate and taste the product, whilst sampling Mexican food and music. In a speech to guests MBG International Premium Brands commented that they were very proud that Salitos was finally readily available in Britain following great European success and heavily praised UK importers Navson for there efforts, in particular their investment in an exclusively external based sales team, which daily visit bars, pubs, hotels and restaurants et al.

The official launch in Windsor followed shortly after another major coup for Salitos as Matthew Clark, one of the UK's premier drinks wholesalers serving the UK on-trade listed Salitos. Matthew Clark provides a full range of drinks and business building services to its pub, club, hotel and restaurant customers throughout the UK and has a regular customer base of around 20,000. Twenty universities have thus far launched Salitos through Salitos and Mexican themed events and another 120 have been targeted in conjunction with Matthew Clark and the ‘The University Catering Organisation' through huge promotion.

Despite a hugely competitive market, going forward, Salitos is aspiring for another year of successful growth and greater successes. Marketing and Promotions will continue to play an important part in the Salitos evolution and efforts are being ramped up to gain maximum exposure in the licensed community and ultimately, desire, for the Original Tequila Beer.

Matthew Clark's National Account Manager (Tracy Southwell who manages TUCO – The University Catering Organisation), says: "Salitos Tequila Flavoured Beer is available from Matthew Clark, tastes fantastic, looks the business and has a built in bottle opener at the base of the bottle. The product is in Solutions for December and January and the supplier is working very hard to secure new listings for us and is very pro-active in the promotion of this product with TUCO.

With the decline in PPS it's great to have some NPD within this category and the product is proving to be massive success."

Nik Halsey the Sales Director for On-Trade and Soner Kanal Managing Director of Navson launched Salitos Tequila Flavoured Beer this year and both agreed "Salitos is the most exciting product launch Navson has been involved in. The opportunity for tequila beer in the UK is enormous and the response the Navson sales force has received from bars and clubs is very positive. With Matthew Clark, National Drinks Distributors (NDD) and Euroimpex committed to Salitos we are able to target over 40,000 venues.

With a number of exciting promotions planned for next year including the launch of Scavi and Ray - a wonderfully fresh, delicately aromatic, pétillant sparkling wine from Prosecco specialists SCAVI & RAY from Italy's northern Veneto region - and the continued support of MBG, 2006 will prove to be a very big year for Navson and Salitos Tequila Flavoured Beer."
