The MBR process provides liquid/solid separation by combining biological waste oxidation and membrane separation. The configuration eliminates the need for secondary clarification.
Following the ASP (Activated Sludge Process), submerged membranes are immersed in the mixed liquor. Filtrate pumps create a vacuum and draw the water through the membrane fiber separating the treated effluent from the mixed liquor.
