Air Logic Power Systems, Inc. (ALPS) is the leading American manufacturer of machines to assure plastic container integrity
Air Logic Power Systems, Inc. (ALPS) is the leading American manufacturer of machines to assure plastic container integrity. Located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, ALPS has supplied well over 1,000 leak inspection systems in its 30-year history. The ALPS Model RS-100 introduces a new and innovative approach to test bottles directly over an existing continuous conveyor without requiring change parts. The system is capable of testing speeds up to 160 BPM on smaller containers, and detects hole sizes down to 0.004" diameter depending on the test time and bottle characteristics.

Key Features

  • Test probe moves with each bottle via use of a servo driven linear slide
  • Encoder input to monitor line conveyor speed
  • Works over existing customer conveyors; inboard rail provided with machine
  • Machine works "on demand", testing each bottle when it is sensed with a start photoeye
  • New ALPS "STM2" test circuit
  • Touch screen interface including "guided auto setup"
  • Designed to test bottles up to approximately 10.5" in diameter
  • Integrated upstream and downstream pinch cylinders
Corresponding Benefits
  • Smooth testing operation not requiring stopping of bottles on the conveyor
  • Automatic matching of probe speed to conveyor
  • Convenient installation and no bottle transfers needed to perform leak test
  • No tooling requirement (i.e. no timing screw) and no need to backlog bottles prior to the machine
  • Accurate testing with times as short as 150ms
  • Easy setup and changeover with minimal training
  • "All-purpose" machine for wide variety of bottle types
  • Holds back bottle flow when needed and prevents untested bottles from passing through machine
