Molded Fiber Custom Packaging Solutions Provide Protective Cushioning For Wine Bottles

winepackaging

Georgetown, MA – UFP Technologies, Inc. offers its molded pulp wine pack as a commodity packaging solution for protection of wine bottles during shipping and handling (i.e., no necessary tooling investment for the parts). With a universal part that serves as the top, bottom and middle insert (for 6-bottle configurations), UFP's molded fiber is ISTA-3-A certified for use in small package environments. Available in 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9 and 12 – bottle configurations, UFP's wine shipper is made from 100% recycled news print and requires no tolling investment from the end-user.

Molded Fiber's inherent resilience and blocking and bracing capabilities enable it to outperform most vacuum-formed plastic, expanded polystyrene, and corrugated designs.

Because it is made from abundantly available recycled paper, UFP's molded fiber is a cost-effective choice compared to other packaging mediums with high raw material costs. For most applications, molded pulp is less expensive than expanded polystyrene, vacuum formed PET and PVC, corrugated and plastic film suspension packs, resilient foams, and die-cut corrugated materials. Additionally, UFP's molded fiber offers easy pack-out as a molded part, minimal warehousing requirements due to its ability to nest, and low disposal costs since the packaging is recyclable.

Molded Fiber's inherent moisture content does not fluctuate significantly, even in especially humid environments, thereby maintaining its structural performance characteristics. This has been an important factor in assuring successful shipments to high humidity locations such as the southern U.S. and various international locations.
