Northland Cranberries To Purchase Juice Division of Seneca Foods
Northland Cranberries, Inc., manufacturer of Northland brand 100% juice products has signed an agreement whereby Northland will purchase the juice division of Seneca Foods Corporation. The purchase will include bottling and packaging facilities located in Dundee, NY; Mountain Home, NC; Jackson, WI; warehousing in Eau Claire, MI, and a grape receiving station in Portland, NY. Also included in the intended purchase are all rights to the TreeSweet, Awake and Orange Plus brand names, as well as exclusive license to Northland of the Seneca brand for all juice products. Seneca will retain its apple sauce, apple chip, glaze and its maraschino cherry business and its production facility in Prosser, WA.
In addition to the purchase, the company has also announced the departure of its president and COO, Jerold Kaminski. He is leaving the company to continue a career opportunity with General Mills Corporation, where he will serve as vice president-marketing for the Betty Crocker Division.
Northland Cranberries, Inc., processes and sells Northland brand 100% juice cranberry blends, private label cranberry juice, Northland brand fresh cranberries and other cranberry products through retail supermarkets and other distribution channels.
