Pepsi Gemex Begins Operations at Chihuahua Bottling Plant
Pepsi Gemex, S.A. de C.V. (Mexico City, Mexico), the largest Pepsi bottler outside the U.S. and sole anchor bottler for Pepsi-Cola in Mexico, has begun operations at the company's first soft drink and purified water plant in Chihuahua. The new plant, a market of approximately 60 million unit cases, will have an installed production capacity of 20.9 million non-returnable unit cases per year.
"This modern facility enables Pepsi Gemex to begin distribution of our products in the area, thus strengthening the company's market position and increasing volume throughout Mexico," said Enrique Molina S., chairman of the board of Pepsi Gemex. "With the addition of this facility, Pepsi Gemex now controls distribution of approximately 50% of the Pepsi products produced in Mexico."
Pepsi Gemex's products include Pepsi, Mirinda, KAS, Seven-UP. Manzanita Sol, Power Punch, Garci Crespo and San Lorenzo mineral waters. The company also offers Seagram products to its customers and owns Mexico's largest purified water company, Electropura.
