Springfield, MO - CSI of Springfield, Missouri will hold an award ceremony recognizing them as a recipient of the Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) Prestigious Exemption & Award on Friday, April 17 at 1:00 PM. The ceremony will take place at CSI, 2700 N. Partnership Blvd., Springfield, MO 65803.

The Missouri Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) acknowledges businesses who utilize an exemplary safety and health management system. CSI's acceptance into Missouri SHARP and approval by OSHA is an achievement that singles them out as a model for worksite safety and health.

"Providing a safe environment for our employees is top priority for CSI," says CSI President Mark Cook. "This enables us not only to ensure the safety of our workers, but also to gain an edge in the marketplace."

With the assistance of Summit Safety, CSI's road to SHARP status began with a workplace consultation by Missouri Department of Labor staff, who performed a complete hazard identification survey and interviewed employees about workplace safety. Any hazards that were identified were then corrected, and CSI continues to implement and maintain a safety and health management system that addresses OSHA's Safety and Health Program Management Guidelines.

After satisfying all SHARP requirements, CSI will be formally recognized by the state and OSHA at the SHARP awards ceremony on April 17. Upon receiving SHARP certification, CSI will be exempt from programmed OSHA inspections for one to three years, dependant upon their performance within the program.

CSI provides design, custom fabrication and distribution of stainless steel products for the sanitary processing industries including food, pharmaceutical and biotechnology. CSI has over 100 employees at three facilities across the USA.
