Safety Relief Valve
In today's evolving process industries, protection of plant personnel and equipment is dependent on the selection of a pressure relief device, the final controlling safeguard in a system under pressure.
The pharmaceutical, biotech and fermentation process companies that incorporate pressure vessels are required to use an ASME coded or state approved pressure relief device to protect these vessels. In the sanitary and sterile processes the relieving device must also be designed to meet cGMP's.
The company's Type 448 valve is unique in that it relieves at a pre-designed set point and meet sanitary/sterile process conditions and can be CIP/SIP-able for pharmaceutical, biotech, fermentation applications to with the following features:
- Not temperature sensitive
- Re-setable; will minimize product loss or minor pressure spikes
- Sanitary, pocket-free design
- Supplied with tri-clamp connections (other connections are available upon request)
- Teflon glide enables smooth operation
- Pressure coded and factory set at designated points between 20-150 psig
- Continuous operation up to 248°F; SIP-able up to 280°F
- Material AISI 316 L stainless steel
- Standard finish 20-25 Ra (180 grit); higher finish available upon request
- FDA approved EPDM elastomers
- Pneumatic and manual lifts available
- CIP/SIP with automatic pneumatic lift to clean under the valve disk (optional)
- Proximity switches to interface with control system (optional)
