Seattle's Best Coffee® Releasing Founder's Rare Coffee Bean Blend in. its Nortb American Cafes

(SEATTLE, WA) - Seattle's Best Coffee(g, LLC, a subsidiary of AFC Enterprises, Inc. (NASDAQ: AFCE), is offering a limited release of Founder Jim Stewart's exclusive whole bean coffee blend, Autumn Reserve™, in its North American cafes. The blend includes extremely rare aged coffee from Sumatra arid estate-grown., high-altitude coffee from Costa. Rica. For the past 18 years Stewart, who is Seattle's Best Coffee's chief green bean buyer, has created and sold the Autumn Reserve blend exclusively at the company's Vashon Island, WA roasting facility and store.

Stewart travels the world to purchase the finest beans from top coffee estates around the world. ,A, small coffee farm owner himself., Stewart resides on Vashon Island (near Seattle) for half of the year and at his farm in Costa Rica during the other half Renowned in the coffee industry as one of the world's leading coffee experts, he counsels growers on proper harvesting and storing methods and regularly "cups" coffee beans in both locations to help monitor the quality of the beans before they are roasted.

"Autumn Reserve has developed a passionate local following on Vashon Island," said Stewart. "The robust flavor of the blend is ideal for an after-dinner beverage oz' for those who prefer full-bodied coffee. It is truly different from anything else we have."

This Sumatran coffee is aged for four to five years in order to replicate the flavor of aged coffee in centuries past. Before modern transportation, sailboats took months to transport coffee from the Far East to European. ports. Stored in the vessels' hulls, the moist, hot conditions, along with the salty air aged the coffee unusually quickly, producing a heavy, earthy flavor that became a coffee delicacy for those who favored strong coffee. Today, Sumatran coffee growers replicate that aging process on a limited basis because of the cost and time involved. The aged Sumatran coffee by itself is often too strong fox most American coffee drinkers. In fact, Stewart compares it to a fine aged cigar.

The Costa Rican beans, grown in the highest altitudes of the Tarrazu region, have a lighter and livelier flavor than aged Sumatran beans. This coffee from the Santa Elena estate is picked ripe, shade grown and sun-dried.

Married in Jim Stewart's recipe, these two coffees create a hearty, cocoa-like flavor with a hint of acidity. The coffee will be available in all North Amencan Seattle's Best Coffee cafes through the last day of autumn,, or as long as the rare beans remain available. The price per bag is $11.99.
