Seattle's Best Coffee® Shares its Secret Process For Making its Best-Selling Signature Cold Coffee Drinks
SEATTLE (July 13, 2004) – Seattle's Best Coffee® (SBC) announced today that the Toddy Cold Brew System™ (The Toddy™) is its secret process for making its signature cold coffee drinks, including its best-selling iced Naughty Toddy® and iced-blended JavaKula®.
The Toddy Cold Brew System™ home model and SBC® Beach House Blend™, a new blend of coffee beans, will be introduced for sale in all Seattle's Best Coffee® cafes throughout the U.S. and Canada beginning July 20.
The Toddy™ home model, developed and patented by Houston-based Toddy®, is a smaller version of The Toddy™ commercial model used by SBC® in all of its North American cafes.
SBC® and Toddy® will conduct a 7-city tour TO HELP EDUCATE COFFEE DRINKERS ON HOW TO MAKE THEIR OWN DELICIOUS COLD COFFEE DRINKS AT HOME USING THIS UNIQUE PROCESS. MARKETS WILL INCLUDE: AUSTIN, PHOENIX, LOS ANGELES, LAS VEGAS, PORTLAND, SEATTLE and VANCOUVER.
The Toddy™, a brewing system that uses COLD rather than hot water, extracts the coffee bean's true delicious flavor but leaves behind the bitterness – creating an espresso-like concentrate that has an average of 67% LESS ACID than coffee or espresso made by conventional hot brewing methods. When mixed with HOT or COLD water, it creates a bold yet smooth tasting coffee, and one that is naturally easier on one's stomach (an important fact for the millions that suffer from acid sensitivity and elements of GERD).
