Suntory Water Group Acquires Cloister Spring Water
Suntory Water Group, the nation's second-largest bottled water company, has acquired the Cloister Spring Water Co. of Lancaster, PA. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Cloister, a 60-year-old company, produces both spring and distilled drinking water for home and office delivery, as well as for sale in supermarkets, convenience stores, food service establishments and vending machines. Its products are distributed in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, Washington, DC and Virginia.
"The acquisition of Cloister strengthens our spring water operations and extends our market presence in the important mid-Atlantic region of the country. Cloister complements our existing operations in terms of quality and scope of products for both home and office delivery and retail sales," said David Krishock, president and CEO of Suntory Water Group.

Suntory Water Group's brands include Belmont Springs, Crystal Springs, Kentwood, Polar, Hinckley & Schmitt, Sierra and Pacific Pure. The company offers single-serve bottles, bulk packages and cooler options to home and office and retail customers in 28 states.
