Tropicana Sold On POP Cool Open Display System
Doorless, refrigerated merchandisers and cooling systems offer shape/color design versatility to enhance product presence and identity in the marketplace. Called "Chameleon," the systems are supplied by MTL Technologies Inc. (Brossard, Quebec, CAN).

Tropicana was the first of MTL's clients to own a refrigerated POP (point-of-purchase) merchandiser of this type. Pierre Cote, Tropicana regional sales manager for the Quebec region, said, "We spent a lot of time looking for a merchandiser that gave customers easy access and complete product visibility. When we set eyes on the Chameleon, we knew we had finally found exactly what we had been looking for."

The system's double-sided, open-type, vertical concept facilitates access to the products on display, substantially increasing the number of purchases. The design also ensures constant temperature control inside the refrigerator and features three patented components: a pressurized air chamber, a microprocessor-controlled electronic thermostat, and a sophisticated evaporation system that eliminates the need for conventional drainage.

Besides Tropicana, other MTL clients include Danone, Lipton, Natrel, Lassonde, Kraft (USA/CAN), and the Florida Department of Citrus.
