Veryfine's New Juice Bottle Offers Easy Handling and "Brand Look"
Graham Packaging has designed a new 96-oz PET plastic juice bottle for Veryfine Products, Inc. The bottle design represents a trend in juice packaging - the combination of easy handling with a distinctive look.
"The design features a grip that gives the bottle a good ergonomic feel and good center of gravity, which makes it easy for customers to handle," said Roger Prevot, senior vice president and general manager of the Food & Beverage Business Unit of Graham Packaging Company, L.P.
The packaging design has allowed Veryfine to switch to a grip bottle without having to abandon its existing wrap-label technology. Most grip bottles feature a pinch-grip at the lower rear of the bottle, which makes wrap labeling impossible. The new design features a grip under a "bell" situated atop a round body, which permits a wrap label.
Veryfine Orange Juice and Veryfine Ruby Red Grapefruit Juice Cocktail are currently being sold in the new bottles. Veryfine Fruit Punch in the new bottles is being test marketed.
John Denner, director of PET package development for Graham Packaging, underscored the project's quick time-to-market. He said it took only six months from the first development meeting to commercial launch.
